Olive Shirt and Leopard Skirt? Seems like an odd combination. But it really works! So, today I’m styling these colors together for another new color combination. In my last post, I combined lilac and navy, so you can see I’m on a roll to try new combinations.
Since many fashionistas consider a leopard print a neutral, it can go with any color, right? For the most part that’s true. This print looks fabulous with red, as in this post: Three Ways to Style a Pleated Leopard Skirt. I also like the combinations of leopard print with yellow, purple, pink, burgundy, and so on. But you do need to choose the right shade of each of these colors to complement not only the animal print you are styling it with but your own skin tone.
For my skin tone, olive works very well. And those of you who follow me regularly know that I love olive! Here’s a link to the post, Five Ways to Style Olive.
Olive Shirt and Leopard Skirt Outfit
You’ve seen this skirt before and it has definitely become one of my favorites! By now, you probably already have a leopard skirt in your wardrobe, but if not, you really need to add one! These skirts are easy to style and very versatile in any length, and a midi length works for any time of year.
You can see it’s been raining here in Southern California, but we’re not complaining. It helps green everything up and the snowpack in the mountains should help us stay away from drought status. That’s definitely a good thing! I had to hurry on this photo shoot as I was already getting wet (can you say, bad hair?! Lol!) and the wind was gusting.
Olive green shirts are pretty easy to find. Mine is from Prologue at Target. It was on the clearance rack and was less than $10! I tell you that so you can be sure to take a look at the clothing lines and sales when you’re shopping at Target for incidentals. It’s worth the look, and the items are quite fashionable. I’ve listed some other possibilities below.
Here are some options in various olive tones and price points:
Accessories for the Olive Shirt and Leopard Skirt Outfit
There are lots of styles of animal print earrings from lines like Baublebar, Loft, Sugarfix and so on. These are from Chico’s. A touch of leopard in your earrings can help pull your outfit together and they look great with most of your outfits.
Since I’m sharing a winter version of this olive shirt and leopard skirt outfit, over-the-knee boots were a perfect choice. For warmth, for covering the winter white legs (you know what I mean!), and for giving your outfit a smooth line.
Did I mention the wind? For wind and rain, a black moto jacket is a great choice. And I love the look of this moto jacket with my olive shirt and leopard skirt outfit. I’ve linked a really nice faux leather version above and it’s on sale and very affordable.
My cute little bucket bag is no longer available, but I’ve found the perfect replacement! Take a look at this olive crossbody bag.
Another option is this very unique bucket bag in olive with a macrame shell. If you like handbags that are different, try this one! The price is right.
