Hello, everyone! Today I am styling a floral top from my second Stitch Fix. I asked the stylist for some pieces with red, as red is a big color right now, and expected to trend this fall. Surprisingly, it isn’t that easy to find a lot of red so I waited excitedly to see what she came up with.
For today’s post, I am wearing the top with three different bottoms to show just how versatile one great fashion piece can be and how easy it is to put pieces together to form a new look.
For the first look, I am styling the top with shorts, as I promised to share some cute ideas for short outfits this week.
These ripped denim shorts with frayed hems are from Target. For accessories, I added a great new bracelet (more about that later) and my bright blue earrings from Floral Farms. You can see them here.
This adorable bracelet is from my hair salon–Salon Zinnia. They have lots of unique, one-of-a-kind pieces. This one has some crystal and silver accents and an Eiffel Tower charm. SO cute! The sandals are the dark tan version of the Franco Sarto sandals I also bought in gray. Love them, too! And they pair nicely with my inexpensive vegan cutwork clutch.
Another way to style this top is with colored jeans. This coral pair is from the same Stitch Fix box as the top. They are by Lila Ryan, the same brand that I styled from my first Stitch Fix box. Besides the color and the fit (great fitting petites!), they are soft and lightweight so they are perfect for warm weather.
The coral-red color ties with the coral colored flowers in the top. The same TJ Maxx clutch looks great as well and goes perfectly with the Lucky Brand wedges.
You can see a bit more detail here for the bracelet. So cute!
Finally, paired with a denim skirt, you can take the top up a notch for a casual dinner date.
By pairing it with red espadrille wedges, you add a little interest. You don’t have to change out any of the accessories as they all work.
You can see how overcast and foggy it is here along the coast! The inland areas are sweltering as sit in overcast skies in the 70’s! It makes the photos a bit fuzzy, too!
By finding one great top with an interesting color combination or pattern, you can build a lot of outfits. An interesting floral pattern is a good place to start; then just pair it with your own basic pieces, add some neutral or colorful shoes and jewelry and you’re done!
