OK, it’s winter. We’ve all pulled out those clothing items that make us feel warm and cozy. Typically darker colors, right? But it’s OK to wear color in the winter, like this pastel pink sweater!
Forget having to wear black, navy, gray, and burgundy for the next few months. All of a sudden there are pink, blue, yellow, mint green, and peach-colored sweaters in all the stores. A pastel sweater is a great piece to transition from the cold of winter to the lesser chill of the early spring months.
A colored top can take any pair of jeans and perk them up. And a warm colorful sweater or layers of color can make any jeans outfit pop!
The color alone is enough to take an everyday pair of jeans and create an eye-popping outfit. But with the right accessories, you can truly make a statement.

Pastel Pink Sweater and Jeans
This chunky pink sweater has lots of style. The loose fit gives it a slouchy, casual look, and I have always loved a boat neck style. The sweater has been restocked but sells out quickly. I’ve also linked to several super pretty options for pink sweaters below. Any will work and accomplish the same effect with a pair of light-wash jeans. I’ve included shades from the palest pink to a hot pink shade.
After some thought, I decided to go all out on the pastel theme here, from top to toe. The beautiful soft pink hue of the sweater just seemed like a natural pairing with light wash jeans.
Are you a fan of light wash jeans? I have always loved them. They make me feel like it’s spring or summer, while still providing the weight of most any jeans. I have a few pairs of Paige jeans and absolutely love them so decided to try these. These Cindy Jeans are a straight leg style, which is totally trending right now, with a high rise and a raw hem. Best of all , they are on sale at a great discount if you want to get a pair for spring.
A boho jeweled cuff bracelet in pinks and golds and silver added a touch of bling! (I’ve linked to a similar bracelet–on sale!)
Here are several versions. Some are on sale and others are full price. They are a bit pricey at full price, but worth it for a good-fitting pair of designer jeans.
I have purchased Paige men’s jeans for both my husband and my son. They love the fit, the options, and the comfort!
Add Some Red!
Now, let’s talk accessories!! If you really want this simple pastel sweater and jeans outfit to pop, add red accessories! While this is a great February look for a Valentine’s Day celebration, it really works any time you want to make a statement. The combination of pink and red is a color combination that works well together and adds a special touch to any look.
Sometimes matchy shoes and bags are a good thing, right? Red slingback pumps and a Vera Bradley crossbody bag over the pastel pink and blue takes this basic outfit from plain and cute to sophisticated and chic! (My shoulder bag did not arrive in time for pictures, so here I’m styling an older foldover clutch bag.)
The suede pumps are by Naturalizer and come in lots of colors. The crossbody bag is a microfiber fabric and also comes in lots of colors for a handy little accessory in your closet. Talk about comfy and cute!
