Good Monday morning! As promised, all posts this week are devoted to skirts, for work, casual and even dressy occasions. I don’t know about you, but skirts have always been a go-to for me. For most of my life, I preferred skirts, as I felt I couldn’t get a good fit in dresses, but sizing has really improved over the years. For today’s look, I am going a bit out of my comfort zone with not just mixing patterns, but also by adding some pretty bright colors in the sweater along with a ruffle on the shoulder. My favorite part of this outfit is the gingham maxi skirt.
This adorable gingham maxi skirt is from the WHO WHAT WEAR line at Target, so it is very affordable. Have I mentioned that I am really loving the new lines at Target?! OK, maybe many times! Haha! The skirt was the basis for this look, as I knew that SO many tops and colors would look amazing with the black check. My usual choice would be a bright yellow, red, or green solid top, which would make this a work-appropriate look for sure. For a work look, I would also most likely wear black or solid-color pumps. The gingham maxi skirt would look good with a blazer, too.
However, for this look, I am loving this striped sweater. I wasn’t too sure about the ruffled shoulders, but once I put it on, I was hooked! It would look super cute with black jeans, don’t you think? Or jeans with OTK boots…
OK, and how about these gorgeous shoes?!! I have been admiring the many red mules I’ve been seeing, but really didn’t want to spend a great deal on something I will only wear occasionally. These are SO CUTE and a very nice quality for a very inexpensive price. The ruffles make them especially cute!! And who doesn’t LOVE red shoes?!
Finally, these red tassel earrings by Sugarfix: another affordable find! They added just the right touch to this outfit!
I hope you enjoyed the mixed pattern look. Check back in tomorrow for some more inspiration with a basic skirt!
