Happy Friday, everyone!
Today I am sharing another look in my “ready to party” for the holiday series. Spruce is a beautiful deep green that I am seeing in a number of holiday looks, so I styled this slightly dressy outfit around that color.
When I saw this long pleated skirt, I just loved it! Being petite can make finding these types of skirts challenging so when I found this one in the small fit, I grabbed it!
While I bought mine at Loft, I am unable to find the exact skirt online. However, there are LOTS of super cute ones in lots of colors, including metallic. Here are just a few at various price points:
When I found this beautiful paisley scarf with shades of spruce with mauve and yellow, my outfit was born! Here is a similar one.
And I am crushing on the many beautiful velvet and velour tops in beautiful rich shades, like this dark mauve! Here is a similar version in mauve from Target!
Best of all, I can almost hide my very un-stylish boot! At least I can stand without crutches for short periods of time! On my left foot, I am wearing a velvet tie up flat from last season. I could also have worn my burgundy suede pointy toes shoes from Sole Society. Click here to see a cute burgundy d’Orsay version here.
I love to add a pop of another color, and this mustard clutch picked up the bit of yellow in the scarf. So fun to add that pop of color for interest! Here is a cute velvet version by Steve Madden.
This outfit would also work with a long statement necklace, dangly earrings, and lots of bracelets for a more formal look. With heels, of course! (I am SO looking forward to wearing any kind of shoes, not to mention some very stylish heels!)
The beauty of a long yet thin scarf is the ability to wear a number of ways, as I have shown in these pictures–hanging long and open, around the neck and trailing in the back, tied in any fashion, and as a shawl. So scarves are always a good investment and can give you SO many looks!
When you shop for your holiday looks, give a maxi or midi pleated skirt a look. If you have avoided them, they look much better on than you might think. And you can dress them up or down.
Check back on Monday to see an edgy outfit with this skirt–so fun!
