Happy Hump Day, my Friends!
For today’s post, I am sharing a casual look for the holidays with the color that is red hot this season! And speaking of hot, I am styling this warm outfit on an 80+ degree day on the first day that I am supposed o begin walking on this horrid boot/cast in 10-minute increments. Hence the title: red-hot! Whew! lol!
For a touch a red, what could be better than a red cashmere sweater? Mine is from a few seasons ago, and here is a really nice one on sale at Macy’s. There are lots of cute styles this season, with bell sleeves, turtlenecks, tunics, and so on, but I love the casual crewneck style as a classic piece. It comes in several pretty colors, too!
The second element added is this plaid blanket scarf. You may remember my post from Monday, outlining some of the holiday trends–you can review it here. And scarves of all kinds are still popular, which is great for cold weather! This scarf is from the Loft Outlet Store, and you can see a similar one here.
And what could look better with this outfit than my gray booties? I know, I should say bootie! Ugh! Some of you have commented that my boot is matching my outfits. Just goes to show that gray truly is a neutral that goes with everything! Haha! Sorry–I will be wearing it with all my looks for another three weeks!
This gray crossbody bag from Gap is sold out–you can see a similar one here.
The last detail for the outfit is a pair of silver filigree earrings. But truly, the most critical accessory is the red lipstick. A red lip is always in style and just adds that final touch to make an outfit special. This one is by Clinique and you can see it here. You could wear this outfit to any casual party.
