Do you have your 4th of July outfit ready to go? If you’re like me, it’ll be a pretty casual affair. You want to show your patriotic side, but don’t want to go too over the top. But if going over-the-top is your style, go for it!
In the post, Style a Striped Midi Dress for Summer Chic, I shared a cute tank dress in red and blue stripes that is a great choice for a casual 4th celebration. The dress is still available and you can see it here: red and blue striped tank dress. Here is how I styled it.
For my American friends, how do you celebrate the 4th? And for my Canadian readers whose flag is red and white (The Maple Leaf), and my UK friends (also red, white, and blue in the Union Jack flag) how do you dress patriotically? Since we usually have a BBQ and pool party, I just wear the ol’ red, white and blue in the form of denim shorts, a red or white tee, and a red, white and blue scarf. And that works, right?
Luckily, on a recent shopping trip to that amazing little designer store we all love (Hint: it starts with a T.), I spotted this darling sheer vest! And how perfect is this? I can wear my usual uniform–mentioned above–and throw this cute vest on and look like I went to a lot of trouble! Yay!
Red, White, & Blue 4th of July Outfit
The vest came in three patterns, all in red, white and blue, and this was the lesser of the flag styles. All of them are super cute, but this one seems the most subtle. Here are the details:
- Red knee-length vest with sheer construction brings lightweight layering to your wardrobe
- Elongated hem at the front brings added movement
- Sheer fabric still lets you show off your ensemble underneath

I love your handkerchief style kimono: and so many ways you can wear it this summer. Perfect for the 4th of July!
