Hello, everyone! As promised, my husband, son and I are taking a little trip to the Palm Springs area. We are staying at a very nice property in Indian Wells–the Hyatt Regency. Since Palm Springs is only about two hours from our home at the coast, it’s a great little getaway. And the change in weather is always nice–from the cool coast to the warm, dry desert.
I am still recovering from a strange glitch that took place with WordPress on Sunday night; WordPress is the program my blog runs on. I created a post called Easter Outfit that seems to have disappeared into cyberspace. The odd thing is, it shows I had LOTS of views even though the post is nowhere to be found!! Oh, the fun of technology!! If you happened to receive the post, I would love to hear from you! You can comment using the link below the title line above.
Here is a shot of me leaving for our little trip. You can see that I dress for comfort for traveling and nothing beats a simple white tee with capris and flip-flops!
These capris were a great find at SteinMart. They are made of a very light terry fabric in a medium gray with a tie cord at the waist. My flops have a small elevated heel which makes them more comfortable than being totally flat.
Since we are only going for a few days, I packed very light. My swimsuit, cover-up, flops, two pairs of shorts, three tee-shirts, and one of my reversible skirts. I talked about those skirts–called switchstacks–in my very first posts; they are fabulous pieces for travel as they have a different pattern on each side and can literally be thrown into your suitcase. I have several pieces like that from the great little store in Northern Michigan called Haystacks. The worst part of packing is the toiletries, right? Whether you are going for a few nights or a week, you still need the same supplies: skincare, makeup, shampoo, etc. Unfortunately, I have never been able to just use what is supplied by the hotel. What a hassle that is, to be sure!
To dress up my capri outfit for dinner, I added a beautiful kimono topper–another find from my hair salon/boutique! I also changed into a soft pink tee.
I just love the silky texture of this topper and the gray with pink and white flowers is so pretty. I will find many ways to make use of this piece!
Tomorrow I will share some photos of the property and some of the sights along the way. As always, thank you for taking the time to read my post and for being a loyal follower. My blog is starting to show some real growth and I have all of you to thank! You can also follow me on Pinterest, Instagram, Google+ and Facebook. That also helps to grow my blog following.
I have to go lay by the pool, so until tomorrow…
