Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! The hype for this “greeting card” holiday is big, but you don’t have to go all out for Valentine’s Day. In fact, Valentine’s Day is often just another name for “date night” for some of us. And if you don’t like that expression, how about just a nice dinner out with your honey? In either case and in honor of this momentous occasion (LOL!), I am styling a cute casual outfit in soft colors, like rose gold and blush pink with white mules.
I’m really liking the references to “Galentine’s Day”–what a great excuse for a girl’s night out or in with your girlfriends!! By the way, that name came from an episode of Parks and Recreation where it was coined by Amy Poehler. (A little fun fact, in case you didn’t know!) Now, wouldn’t Galentine’s Day be fun with her?!! LOL. And how fun to celebrate with other gals as “ladies celebrating ladies.”
The outfit
While red is, of course, BIG for Valentine’s Day, pink holds a close second. My take on this color is to put together a simple outfit combining rose gold and blush pink. My outfit is composed of another comfy tee in a soft blush pink color and my gold and rose gold jewelry. I wonder how many times I say “comfy” in my posts? Haha. Sorry about that, but you can see I am very much into clothes that feel good. I am also into casual looks with a little pizzazz.
And to give an outfit pizzazz, add some nice jewelry! My necklace and earrings are both in rose gold which is such a rich look And this color looks amazing with pink!
I still love these white distressed jeans from Articles of Society. BUT, I have found that you do need to pay attention to the washing instructions. These were not supposed to go into the dryer, so they have little puckers here and there. I’m telling myself that just adds to the distressed look! Haha!
A cute bag in pink goes with almost everything! You can see a similar one here.
The shoes
OK, here is my favorite part of this whole outfit: these white mules!! I saw a similar pair by a European shoe company that I have been drooling over, but the price point was pretty high. Then I saw these by Nine West and said, oh, yeah, these are for me! There is just something about stark white shoes and this mule style is SO cute. Of course, I do the block heel, as it is so COMFY. (There is that word again!!) And the best news of all is that I can finally wear cute shoes like this! At least I can get my foot into them and have them on my feet for a while! These mules come in a super cute black-and-white check, too!
The hairdo
Finally, I wanted to give you the inside scoop on my hairdo. I teased the crown and pulled it up into a clip in the back. Then I pulled some pieces around my face and at the neck, and it was done! Nothing fancy, but somehow an up-do just looks like something special. And the simpler, the better, right?
Whatever your plans are for tonight, I hope you can tell someone you love them and celebrate the special people in your life, whoever that may be.
