Hello, everyone! Today I am putting together my wardrobe as I begin to pack for our trip. It’s only a week-long trip, but since it is pretty hot, you tend to go through clothing pretty quickly.
Here is my formula for a week at a warm destination:
- Bathing suit + beach cover (****most important!***)
- Flip-flops for the pool
- Three pairs of shorts
- Five tops
- Two pairs of shoes
- Two sundresses
- One tote
- Three basic tee shirts (for lounging)
- Pajamas and underwear
- Toiletries
- Sunscreen–LOTS!
So, in order of importance, here are some photos of the pieces I am packing. First, the bathing suit, cover up, hat, tote (for carrying things to the pool) and sunglasses:
I will also throw in the black romper I styled in yesterday’s post as it is very versatile as both a beach cover and a cute outfit.
Next are the short outfits. It is definitely too warm for jeans or long pants, but I will probably wear some crops on the flight.
I always pack basic colors, and here you can see there are white, black and denim shorts. That allows me to mix and match my tops and tees. I have included three basic tanks and tees shirts to wear in the condo where there is air conditioning.
Next are some cute tops to wear with the shorts. I like to bring out the colors in Mexico! So you can see I am packing the stripes and floral tops you’ve seen before. I noticed that they are all from Old Navy except the tan floral, which is from Stitch Fix.
Here you can see my tan cross-body bag which I will use when we go to dinner or walking around in Cabo. It doesn’t take up much room in the suitcase, an important consideration.
For shoes, I will pack only two pairs of sandals–one pair is my comfort sandals by Kork-Ease, and the other is my Franco Sarto leather pair.
Since we will definitely be going to a couple of our favorite restaurants–I can’t wait to share them with you!–I will also need a couple of sundresses. I chose my white eyelet one from Old Navy, my chambray embroidered sundress from Stitch Fix, and added my beach cover-up here since I can also wear it as a dress. A big plus when packing!
I threw my kimono topper over the white dress. These tops are a great addition to your wardrobe on trips as you can wear them in the air conditioning, and they are lightweight and easy to pack and carry. I may actually wear this one on the plane.
This may look like a lot, but it actually folds into a pretty small bundle. I’ll show you my suitcase in another post so you can see how easily it fits.
Well, I am really getting excited! We stay at Playa Grande in Cabo San Lucas, a beautiful hotel, and I will share lots of pictures when we get there.
Thanks for taking the time to check out today’s post. I hope you found my wardrobe selecting helpful as you plan your next trip. Check back in tomorrow for some more tips and ideas. As always, thanks for LIKING and SHARING my posts. I also appreciate that so many of you are following me on Pinterest, Instagram, and Facebook
Warmly,
Darlene
