Today I’m pulling some pieces together for this capri jeans outfit. You’ve seen all these pieces before and combined they make a perfect casual outfit for spring.
I’ve talked before about my criteria for buying something, and I’ll bet yours is the same:
- Fit
- Comfort
- Does it go with other pieces in my closet?
- Something new and unique
- Don’t care–I just love it!
This is as true for basic pieces as it is for a special dress or outfit. In this case, the mint and lilac blouse formed the basis for the outfit and the other pieces just fell in line.
And now, about that look…
Capri Jeans Outfit
A floral top from Stitch Fix was the inspiration for this casual look. The lilac floral tones went from darker to an almost pinkish shade which was a perfect match for the pink denim jacket.
Denim jackets available this spring as just too good to pass up, as they all have a bit of stretch and come in SO many colors. These jackets come in a variety of lengths so you can find one that fits your shape or the dress or outfit you’re styling it with. I have a very short one for dresses in white. Another that reaches my waist for jeans and such, and another in a hip length. All of these jackets get lots of wear and can change the whole look of an outfit. So I have to wonder, how many denim jackets do you have in YOUR closet? Lol!
Denim capris are going to get a great deal of wear this spring! While the days are sunny, there is still a bit of coolness in the air, making a capri pant the perfect length for a spring day. I now have these in this slightly distressed fabric and another in a solid denim shade. Love them both!
The white espadrilles appeared recently in the post Palm Leaf Kimono Outfit. They have quickly become one of my favorite pairs of sandals. I may have to pick up a pair in tan! I love the bit of height and that they aren’t the crazy platforms that are back in style. If you can wear those tall platforms, good for you, but I’m in the shoe comfort zone now! Haha!
The Accessories
Adding accessories is always the fun part, isn’t it? You have seen these earrings before and I love the pink marbled effect. It’s also fun–and stylish–to take a pair of dressier statement earrings and wear them with a casual outfit. Statement earrings instantly provide a little wow factor!
Still loving this satchel from Kate Spade. This bag was a good investment as I can use it for years to come. It’s a good match with my sandals for those times when I want to be matchy-matchy. And matchy-matchy is coming back into style! Woohoo!
The final touch are these adorable sunglasses–sunnies as our UK friends call them! They have the same pink marbling of the earrings and they are just a bit out there which makes them fun!

Darlene, you look fantastic! I love these pastels on you. And cropped jeans are so my go-to in the Spring. I have been trying to shop my closet much more frequently as well and it feels good to style my old things in new ways! Thanks for joining my link party. This post will be featured on tomorrow’s #SpreadTheKindness Link Up.

Thanks so much, Shelbee. I’m excited to be featured on your wonderful blog!! Can’t wait! The whole idea of responsible fashion is one we all need to pay attention to, which is SO hard being bloggers who love fashion and want to share ideas with one another! I’m trying to find the right balance between sharing new looks and trends and using pieces we already have. It’s a challenge!
Have a wonderful week. I hope things are warming up for you in Michigan–my birthplace!

Oops, I mean New York! Your piles of snow and cute towns remind me very much of the MidWest!
I need a pair of white espadrilles like yours, I love the low heel and how you could run errands in them. My fave tho is that pink denim jacket! So pretty with that Stitch Fix top!

Thanks so much, Carrie! Yes, I am really loving these low espadrilles. You8 can wear them with everything and stay comfy. Pink is so many pieces this year, isn’t it? Which is good, cause it’s so easy to style with so many things.
Have a great week!
