Good morning! Just three more days until Valentine’s Day! What are your plans? Dinner with your honey, fun with your girlfriends, or just a cozy night at home? As a fashion blogger, I face an interesting dilemma: when to share style ideas for an upcoming holiday. I could wait and style my outfit authentically, on the actual date, but as my intent is to share ideas with all of you, I have to stage a “fake” Valentine’s Day ahead of time!! So here it goes: today I am styling a cute red tunic top outfit to show a little love in honor of this special day.
I know some folks resent this holiday as it was made up by a greeting card company, but it’s still just another way to show someone you love that they are special to you. That can be done in many ways from a very simple “I love you” to a bigger celebration. For our little family of three, my husband and son and I will be going out for a lovely dinner. As an “only child,” our son has shared in many of our Valentine’s and anniversary celebrations. At 25, we know it’s only a question of time before he will share such occasions with his own family, so we cherish all the time we can get. What could be better than an excuse like Valentine’s Day to spend some quality time together?!
The red tunic top outfit
I found this simple red tunic top at our local outlet mall and the price and fit were just right for this occasion. But it would be easy to create an outfit for this holiday with any red top.
Tan pants are a great accompaniment to almost any top, and they look especially good with red. I’ll bet you have a pair of tan pants in your closet, am I right?
Here are some cute tunic tops in red that you can wear this spring:
You may have noticed that the trend in earrings is moving toward bigger, more architectural shapes. There are many great earrings styles to chose from. This gold pair is from the Sugarfix line by Baublebar at Target. You can find lots of cute, current pieces of jewelry at reasonable prices.
This necklace is from the same line and is also a popular look. Heels always elevate the look of an outfit and these nude ankle heels are one of my favorites.
A simple gold clutch also adds to the dressier look.
However you celebrate Valentine’s Day, you can do it in style! Try pairing a simple red top and tan pants with some statement jewelry and a pair of heels and you will be ready to go!
