Are you big on comfort for summer? You really can’t beat a casual camp shirt outfit. Camp shirts have the laid-back look and feel and since they are usually cotton, they are the perfect breathable top for a hot summer day. And they come in SO many cute colors and patterns! You can pick one up very inexpensively and wear them with jeans, shorts, skirts, you name it. They also layer well. Air-conditioned building? Check. Cool breeze? Check. Cold evening? Check. Coastal fog? Check. A camp shirt even works well under a business suit for a summer casual dress code.
You can tell I like this style of shirt if you’ve been following for a while. Here are other posts featuring camp shirts:

The Casual Camp Shirt Outfit
This is another affordable find from Target. The combination of blue and orange creates such a rush of color. I love the two colors together! The stripes in this top show them off beautifully off the white background.
The fabric is super soft and mostly cotton so this will be a top I’ll take on vacation.
These cuffed crop jeans are from J. Jill, from their “Authentic Fit” line. They are soft with just enough stretch. Can you tell I like these cuffed crops? Haha! I now have them in indigo, white and this light wash color! They are just so perfect for summer. They come in tall, regular and petite lengths which is great for getting the best fit.
The crops also come in light moss, seashell, and zinnia. If you want comfort, these are the jeans for you!
You may notice a bit of stretching out at the knee. I wore these all day and the did bag just a bit by the end of the day. So it that bothers you, you may want to consider that. For pants that fit and feel good, I was willing to overlook that.
Aren’t these rainbow tassel earrings fun? Another great find by Sugarfix at Target.

Why the Blues?
In my weekly newsletter to my wonderful followers, I mentioned the recent loss of our dog, Scooter. You may remember him from several of my photos which he photobombed regularly! Gosh, these guys just get in your chest and wrap around your heart, don’t they? Scooter was a part of my life for his 16 years and I feel his loss every darn day. He was truly my sidekick, my confidant, the guy that was always there for me. After years together, we seemed to read one another’s mind at times! As with any loss of a family member, I am going through the stages of grief. For the last two days, I’ve been crying every time I think of him. I’ll turn and expect him to be there and when he isn’t, I start all over again.
While you may tell yourself it’s only a dog, most of us know that simply isn’t true. I will continue to feel his loss and to grieve him when I realize he’s gone. I know that many of you have similar experiences and can feel my pain. Many friends have said kind and comforting words and it means a lot. I appreciate your support, dear readers, and for listening to my story.
You may have noticed my other photobomber in these photos! Sergeant, our shelter dog, has been a big comfort to us. He, too, spent the first couple of weeks in a depressed mode. But he seems to be coming out of it. He has become a special member of our family, too.
Are you ready to style a casual camp shirt outfit for summer? It’s a great look that works for everyone. Happy camping!

Darlene, sorry to read about your beloved Scooter. A beloved member of your family and saying goodbye is always hard. Wishing you peace and happy memories in the presence of grief. 😢
Your present companion looks like a handsome character.
And I love the outfit, the pattern and colors of the top, especially with the fun multicolored earrings.
Take care.
Garrett,
Thanks so much for your kind words. It has been really hard, as you can see. I SO appreciate your continued support both in words and actions. Thanks from the bottom of my heart.

It is such a sad thing if one of our pets dies. It’s awful and I feel for you as I’ve had it with cats. I also cried for weeks. It hurts. What can I say….
Aw, thanks, Nancy, for sharing your cat story. We all have to go through it if we love our pets, I guess. Thanks for the sweet comments.
