What is your favorite sleepwear? Are you a flannel pajamas gal? A short or long nightgown? Do you favor tailored PJs? I tend to vary my sleepwear based on the season–and my mood. But my fabric of choice is always cotton or a cotton blend.
Regardless of the temperature, cotton always seems just right. It’s breathable and doesn’t irritate my skin. If it’s a cold night, warmer blankets are my strategy. (More about that later.)
Have you ever searched for a simple longer length cotton nightgown? They can be challenging to find. The image for this one appeared in one of the many “Link Up” Parties I participate in. These link-ups are a great way to see what other ladies are styling and to get great tips about fashion and myriad other things. (See my page Link Up Parties I Participate In.)
The gals that make these nightgowns show their wares on Etsy and there are lots of cute and comfy styles, all in cotton. Their company is Oh Sister Sister. They have over 700 5-Star ratings. (I am not currently affiliated with them in any way–I just love their product!)
I like to think this is me styling this nightgown on our cruise to Spain. Alas, I’m just wearing mine at home! Sigh.
The gown I chose is their smocked ruffle gown in a ballerina length. Great on shorter ladies like me! The gown arrived packaged beautifully, so it would also make a great gift. (Believe it or not, it’s time to start thinking about the holidays!! I know, unbelievable, right?)
These are hands-down my favorite PJ pants. With an elasticized waistband and an adjustable drawstring in a cotton poplin fabric, they are extremely comfortable.
If you’re like me, you might wonder, what exactly is poplin?
Poplin is a plain-weave cotton fabric with very fine horizontal “ribs,” or yarns, that results in a strong, crisp fabric with a silky, lustrous surface, commonly used in men and women’s shirts and women’s dresses. It’s the perfect weight for pajamas!
In any case, these PJ pants are perfect for lounging and sleeping. They keep you warm without making you hot. I know many ladies relate to that!
Have you noticed it’s also hard to find pajama tops to purchase by themselves? I guess the thinking is that you can wear any tee or henley top you already have. But a sleep tee has to be super soft and comfy for sleeping. After some searching, I found a few cute options here that check all the boxes:
The Best Comforter
I’m so excited to share my latest find for a comforter. I’ve tried many. Down, down alternative, 3-season, all-season–the list goes on. But I’m a bit picky about my blankets. So, when I read about this company, Slumber Cloud, I was intrigued.
Here is the background info on this comforter:
- Technology originally made for NASA space suits
- Controls the microclimate of your bed to reduce heat and moisture buildup
- Automatically respond to fluctuations in temperature
- Free Shipping
- 60-night Trial
The fact that it’s based on technology was interesting to me. So I researched further to find that they’ve received lots of awards and are highly rated. I decided to give them a try.
They have comforters, mattress pads, sheets, and just added a quilt to their collection. As we already have a comforter cover that matches my bedroom design, I went with the comforter only. It comes in both a regular weight and lightweight option.
As I’m one of those people who do NOT like a weighted blanket, and my husband is the same. we purchased the lightweight version. And let me tell you, this is the best blanket/comforter we have ever had! It’s rare that both of us agree on something like a blanket, but this time we are in sync! Lol!
Cotton sleepwear? Cooling yet cozy comforter? I’m in heaven for sleeping at night! If you are looking for a better night’s sleep, give one or both of these a try. You will sleep well, my friends.
