Are you ready for some weekend? Me, too! I am SO ready to get out of this May gray weather we are having. I mentioned we head to the Palm Springs area for Memorial Day weekend so will happily be able to take some photos with the sun shining! But, for today, I refuse to give in to this yucky weather!! For a little outing to San Juan Capistrano, all of eight miles away, I am styling a super cute sleeveless yellow top with crochet detail. You are going to love it!!
The outing
Just off of Camino Capistrano in San Juan Capistrano is a really fun tourist spot known as the Los Rios Historic District. It’s home to quaint little homes and buildings that date back to 1794 and is the oldest continually occupied neighborhood in California. While some of the homes are still occupied (hence, “continually occupied”), many have been converted into restaurants, local museums, shops and tea and coffee houses. Los Rios sits adjacent to the train depot where there some more fabulous restaurants and shops and it’s just a short walk to Mission San Juan Capistrano. It’s a fun little day trip if you are ever in the area. I’ll feature the mission in a later post: another wonderful historic spot!
The sleeveless yellow top outfit for the outing
As I said, after several days of gray, it is definitely time for some color!! So bring on the yellow! Or whatever your favorite colorful color might be. I am loving this yellow sleeveless top SO much! Two people actually stopped and told me they liked my top and my outfit, so today’s outfit just might be a winner! Haha! Yes, there have been winners and losers, for sure!
Yes, it’s true that all things yellow call me to, and this top was no exception. I love the floral print and the crochet detail around the arms and down the front. And best of all, the price! Check it out above!
Yellow and gray are complementary to one another on the color wheel and look fabulous together. These split hem jeans are so fun and I love the fit. And they are on sale at the Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale! Woo-hoo! Of course, I paid full price. Grrr…
This is a very cute tea house in the Los Rios District. As you can see, the plants and flowers are just beautiful here! And I’m finding lots of uses for my inexpensive white belt. If you don’t have one, try one of these!
A lightweight cardigan is perfect for summer, and this white one is very handy. A white cardigan is another of those essential pieces for your summer wardrobe. This version comes in lots of pretty colors, too.
It’s all in the bag and shoes!
Once again, I am carrying my white (actually “cement”) satchel. It is the perfect size for me and goes with everything. Love the quality of this bag, too!
And these white mules are absolutely perfect with everything spring and summer. I will probably wear them in the winter, too!
I think I mentioned that Los Rios District runs along the train tracks. So I thought I should illustrate that for you! I know you’re thinking, “What is this dummy doing on the tracks?” Lol! Honestly, no train in sight. Did get a few looks from some of the visitors, however. I’m getting used to that after taking photos in so many places! Ah, the blogging life.
Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend! Put a little yellow (or your favorite color) into your outfit and have fun. Check back in on Monday and I will share some more summer-inspired fashion ideas.
The bright yellow top is a gorgeous burst of colour! I love your shoes and split hem jeans! Thanks for linking up!
