Hello, everyone! Another Monday and we are off and running…Today I am sharing a great pop of color in an off-shoulder peasant dress. I need a dress for an upcoming wedding, and didn’t want to spend a fortune, but did want something fun and colorful. So here it is!
I found this cute dress at Nordstrom. It’s made by Pleione, comes in a number of attractive colors and was less than $70. The fabric is a crepe material which allows it to hang and flow nicely. Since I wanted the dress to be the focal point, I chose neutral or nude tones for the accessories and shoes.
The shoes are the Franco Sarto block heels I have worn before. The bag is a bronze woven leather I have also styled several times before. My earrings are the gorjana tassel earrings from Nordstrom, also worn before. I added a gold bracelet from Talbots and a delicate gold choker-style necklace.
While I love the look of this dress, I do have to tell you that the elastic neckline tends to move up awkwardly–and it seems to have to be adjusted frequently. One answer might be to just wear it higher on the neckline, which still works. Here are the two ways to wear this neckline:
Here is a view of the back of the dress. You can see it is simply styled, which can be flattering on almost anyone.
I am looking forward to being able to use this dress for a variety of functions–from casual to more formal. I think it would look really cute with sandals and a straw bag and fun hat, don’t you?
Like most of you, I don’t like to spend a lot on a trending fashion piece, but it’s always fun to wear things that are fresh and new. It seems like it is becoming easier to find quality pieces without spending a fortune, and this dress is one of those. What fashion bargains have you found lately?
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I hope your week is off to a fabulous start. Enjoy the lovely spring weather! You can also follow me on Pinterest, Instagram, Google+ and Facebook.
