The outfit I’m sharing today is an example of a slightly less vibrant shade of the Color of the Year styled around a living color sweater. In my recent post, I explained the Pantone Color of the Year designation. If you missed it, you can read it in this post: Living Coral Fashion. There are several shades of coral that fit the description and almost anyone can find a shade that looks right with their own skin and hair color.
The living coral color shows up in all kinds of design. It’s very big for weddings this spring, and fashion pieces range from swimsuits to business suits. Pantone imagined it as a vibrant underwater color that would evoke colors of the sea, and it’s easy to imagine this color with all shades of blue. Like the bright blue pants I styled in the post above, it also looks amazing with aqua, teal, and almost the entire blue spectrum.
Pantone’s Spring/Summer 2019 Trend Report
While Living Color is the “Color of the Year,” Pantone has identified a range of colors in their 2019 Spring/Summer 2019 Trend Report. There are a total of 12 in all. Below are the colors in groupings:
The first group includes vibrant reds and yellows, including Fiesta, Jester Red, Lemon Verbena, and of course, Living Coral.
I can see Fiesta together with Lemon Verbena for a beautiful combination. Or Jester Red with Living Coral!
The next color group includes pretty reds and green shades, like Mango Mojito (don’t you just love that name?), Pepper Stem, Pink Peacock, and Pressed Rose. So pretty! Pepper Stem (moss green) and Pressed Rose would be gorgeous in an outfit.
The last color palette contains Ultramarine Blue and earthy tones, like Terrarium Moss, Toffee, and Turmeric. How about an outfit with Ultramarine Blue and Turmeric?
You can see some gorgeous examples of spring color trends on the runway in this article: The Best Color Trends for Spring 2019.

The Living Coral Sweater
In my quest for finding coral pieces to share with all of you, I asked my Trunk Club Stylist to select and include some pieces in my trunk and she really delivered! I fell in love with this Living Coral Sweater as soon as I saw the gorgeous shade of coral. They call it Coral Glow.
Button-Back Sweater (5 Colors) | Plus Sizes
The front of the sweater is simple and pretty, but the button-back detail makes all the difference and really makes it stand out.
The Living Coral Sweater Outfit
Included in the Trunk, along with the coral sweater, were three items that are so cute and moderately priced that I had to share them with you: the earrings, the ankle pants, and the slide sandals.
The earrings are by Baublebar. I love the coral and gold together–it really makes them stand out.
The pants are in a “crystal pink” color which goes beautifully with the coral. They are by Wit and Wisdom and have a high waist and cute slit at the side ankle. I can wear these with lots of things I already have in my closet–my criteria for purchasing anything new.
What do you think of these slide sandals? They are very nice and actually quite comfortable. And the color is spot on. If you can’t wear any shade of coral you could always some pretty coral in your sandals! They are a bit pricey, so I am still debating if I simply must have them or not!
This gold and shimmery pink shoulder bag was the perfect addition to this pink and living coral sweater outfit. It’s always great to be able to draw upon your handbag collection to complete an outfit, isn’t it?
