Good morning! It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas…right? We have nice sunny days with just a little chill in the air, which is perfect for that old standby: the plaid flannel shirt.
Have you finished your shopping? Your decorating? I’m just about finished with my shopping, as most of it was online–but the decorating!! I’m dreading it a bit, as we have to pull down all the boxes from the garage, go through and find what I want to use this year and then make a big mess getting it all put up. Does this sound familiar? Every year I tend to do things simpler and use less with the idea that less is more. And this year will be the same–even less. I will share some photos of my tree and mantle as I get them done. It might be another week! Yikes! Haha!
The Outfit: the plaid flannel shirt
This is the kind of outfit that everybody loves. What could be more comfortable than a plaid flannel shirt? They come in so many colors and styles, but the old standard–long sleeves, button front, spread collar–is still the best. And it’s always in style!
This plaid flannel shirt is one of many in the Old Navy line and I picked it due to the mix of red and black.
Yes, you can see that I DID get my coleus planted and the wreaths hung on the front doors. And while I was doing a day-long presentation on K-12 education, my lovely husband put up our Christmas lights. So, on the outside, we look SO ready. Haha!
I styled the plaid flannel shirt with a pair of great black jeans from NYDJ–always a good choice! Once again I am wearing my wonderful black suede booties from Ecco which are SO comfortable–even on my “bad” foot. These shoes are a bit pricey, but they are still both stylish and comfy.
Red Cardigan (similar)http://shopstyle.it/l/pS4K
I seem to be in a “red” mood lately. Must be my educational background–educators tend to bring out the red in December!! LOL! So, I added an older cardigan from J Jill who makes such nice sweaters.
What are YOU wearing this month? I’m guessing there is a bit more red in your wardrobe choices, too!
