Stepping outside my traditional box, once again, to share something different: a street style pajama trouser outfit. This was another instance where my first reaction was, “Oh, no. Not for me. Never gonna happen.” But here we are.
Today I’m styling a street style pajama trouser outfit MY way. Granted it won’t be quite as out there or interesting as some of the looks on the street, but it is a fun way to try something new in the trouser department. What is street style, you ask?
What exactly is street style?
Street style is the fashion that regular people, not models or celebrities, wear out and about to events and shows. It’s a style that embodies current trends, with a twist, and is so much more interesting to see than couture items on the runway.
September is when all the designers come out with their new lines, primarily for Spring/Summer 2018. These fashion shows go on in all the major fashion capitals of the world like New York, Milan, Paris, and so on. Some of the bloggers that I follow are fortunate enough to get invited by the brands that they are working with, and it’s fun to get their take on the shows. And the styles they see on the street.
The street style pajama trouser outfit
When these pajama trousers appeared in my Trunk Club selection, I was intrigued. I’ve seen these trousers on other gals but have never thought they could be “my” look.
Now, they could’ve been styled many ways, but I decided to keep it simple with a clean white shirt. You can never have too much of this wardrobe staple. I picked this one up recently at TJ Maxx. It was a designer blouse at an amazing price. I can wear it tucked in under jackets, or all out like a tunic, or partly tucked as I did for this look. The rolled sleeves are a great feature. Here is a very nice affordable white tunic shirt.
I have gotten SO much use out of these white chunky-heeled mules! Here is a similar pair, on sale.
I also styled this street style pajama trouser outfit with sneakers, which looked cool and casual. Apparently, I forgot to take a photo! (I’ll just blame my “professional” photographer–my husband!! Hah!) But you can imagine these pants with sneakers and maybe a tee of almost any color. They would also look great with a graphic tee and a boyfriend cardigan.

The styling tip
Did you know there is actually a correct way to roll your sleeves?! That is, if you want to look super cool. Who’d have thought, right? Here is a link from WhoWhatWhere, where they show you the “secret tip” for cuffing your sleeves from J. Crew. Check it out and marvel at the wisdom! Lol!
The background
You may have noticed the background in my recent photos. After extended research, we picked out new plants for both our front and backyards. My goal was to introduce some color as our earlier plants were aging and not very colorful. We combined drought-resistant (still a big issue here in SoCal which is hard to believe with all the rain and awful flooding elsewhere!), with bunching as well as plants that will spread out. It may take a few years to fill in, but we are already enjoying the color.
Thanks for stopping by today. I really appreciate all of your comments and ideas. It’s nice to know ladies are “out there” in cyberspace and reading my posts!
I love those pajama trousers and you’ve styled them perfectly with the white shirt and shoes! Fabulous red bag too! Thanks for linking up!

Pyjama pants are also out of my comfort zone but you styled them to look seriously cute! Lise
Thanks so much, Lise. I guess my style is just simple. I always feel more comfortable that way, especially in something new and different. Thanks for the nice comment.
