Today’s post features my third series of finds from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: an olive utility skirt outfit.
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I’m a big fan of olive green. As a neutral piece, it can go with almost any color and looks great by itself in a monochromatic outfit or piece.
I’ve done lots of posts featuring this shade of green, and here is a post with a round-up of ideas from last fall: Five Ways to Style Olive Green Outfits for Fall.
Whenever fall rolls around, olive green shows up in fall fashion trends. It’s a versatile color that almost anyone can wear. But if it’s a shade that doesn’t suit your skin and hair, you can always wear just a piece away from your face, like this olive utility skirt.
The Casual Olive Utility Skirt Outfit
This midi-length skirt has a utility-vibe that is very much trending this fall. The fabric is a cotton twill with a touch of stretch so you can wash and dry it at home.
You can see it’s a slim, straight cut with a front slit that allows for easy movement. Love it!
The casual midi skirt also comes in a very fun camo print, called “beige olive vintage camo.” Of all the pieces I’ve purchased from the #NSale, this skirt is still available in both the solid and the camo print. As happens every year, I’ve selected one of the few things that I really like but other ladies may not, so it’s still available. Yay! If you like denim skirts in a midi length, you will like this skirt. And since it’s made by the Nordstrom brand Caslon, you know it’s a quality piece that isn’t overly expensive.
The camo colorblock Baseball Tee is sold out, but I’ll bet you have a camo top of one sort or another. Any camo tee would look super cute with this utility skirt. Here are a few options:
Did I mention olive green goes with everything? (What?!! Only 39 times?!!) When I told my husband I was also going to style the olive utility skirt with my new gray sweater, he was skeptical. (Once again: men!! Lol!) You can see that it works really well here.
There is a VERY limited supply of this Halogen Cashmere Sweater, so if you like it, go for it soon! Or substitute your favorite gray sweater. I like vee-necks but a crew or turtleneck sweater would look equally good.
The Snakeskin Booties
Of course, the finishing touch that ties the outfit together is the booties! I looked at a couple snakeskin versions at the Nordstrom Sale and decided to try these. I’m not really a big fan of the western look for me but wanted to give these a shot. And I’m so glad I did! the snakeskin print and the western feel are two big trends, so it’s a good way to try a little bit of both!
The perforated top makes these snakeskin booties easy to slip on and they are so comfortable! They have a comfy padded footbed and a lower stacked heel. Perfect!
Hi Darlene
Love the style of this skirt on you! I love a straight skirt with some give and this looks wonderful. So versatile! I wish I would have bought the cashmere sweater from Nsale, too late! I would have gone for the grey too, love these neutrals! Olive is one of my top 3 fav colors too, especially for Fall. Both looks are very stylish and fun and I can’t get enough snakeskin too. Hope you had a great trip!

Hi, Jess. The sweaters are restocked at Nordstrom in four cool colors. Of course, the price is back up to $99, but they are such a nice cashmere sweater. You are so right about the give in this skirt–it has just the right amount of stretch so it’s super comfortable.
Our trip was great!! So many cool things to see: castles, churches, countryside, nice people…
Thanks for the comments and for hosting,
xx Darlene
Dying over these booties! The camo top is so cool too. Amazing look!

Thanks so much, Kathrine! The booties are probably my favorite Nordstrom Sale find. I didn’t expect to like them, so they are a great surprise.
Have a wonderful day,

Thanks, Nancy. I am really loving the olive myself and need to try other green shades, too! I’m glad you like the booties–I really do, and that was a big surprise!
