I think it’s fair to say that we can find inspiration anywhere. In terms of fashion, there are lots of place to get ideas. Pinterest, Instagram, Clothing Catalogs, movies, walking the mall, checking the grocery store..hey, just walking down the street, right? By just looking around we can get inspired to try something new. So, when I saw another blogger style this look, I decided to steal her style! Hence, my version of the satin skirt and sweater outfit.
My fellow blogger, Nancy from Nancy’s Fashion Style, is responsible for my collaboration on Match Made in Seven. In case you missed it, this month we all shared ideas for 7 Fashion Essentials Every Woman Must Own. It’s so fun to see how we all interpret each theme–and how much cross-over there is in our thinking! The other six ladies in our collaboration all provide inspiration for style–and they are fun to read!
Speaking of fun, you have to check out Nancy’s blog. You can tell she is having a good time blogging by her super fun poses and amazing style. You can almost hear her Dutch accent in her writing. (She’s from the Netherlands.) She always takes the time to respond to other’s posts and is honest and kind. Her outfit below is my inspiration for today’s look.
I love the champagne color of her satin skirt. It’s the perfect neutral with the white sweater and booties!
My Style Steal of the Satin Skirt and Sweater Outfit
The Satin Skirt
I first styled this lovely emerald green satin skirt back in December as a holiday look. But given the classic green and gold mix, this is an outfit you can wear all fall, winter, and into spring.
I planned to show other ways to style this skirt. So when I saw how cute a similar skirt looked on Nancy, I just had to steal her style! The simplicity of this look is the best part–satin skirt, white sweater, white booties. Good to go. But the look is still fashionable and most importantly–wearable.
Here, I try to imitate Nancy’s natural poses. Not easy to imitate that smile! Haha! She’s a natural!!
Satin skirts have been trending for the last couple of years. As they should, as they are easy to style for almost any event. You can dress them up as I have in my holiday look, or make them more casual as Nancy and I have done with a chunky sweater and booties. They even look great with a tee and sneakers in the summer! I will be taking mine on vacation to a warm climate this year and will wear it with sandals and a tee, and possibly a hat.
There are lots of great buys on satin skirts, whether they are mini or midi. You can go racy red or a subtle blush shade in these skirts. Here are just a few:
The Chunky White Sweater
The mix of smooth satin and a chunky sweater really works in this outfit. A white sweater is another one of those “wardrobe essentials,” and I imagine you have a couple in your closet. They are a basic piece that can be worn almost any season. And that includes summer. If you go anywhere along the coast or in the mountains, a white sweater is great for a chilly evening.
Here is collection with some great buys that you can still pick up:
Even though it’s just over a week until the official first day of spring, we all know that cool days and cooler nights will still be with us this season. If you are looking for a cute look during this transitional period, be sure to try a satin skirt and sweater outfit. You’ll be just warm enough and plenty stylish whatever you do or wherever you go.
