Hello, my friends! Striped clothing pieces have been trending this spring, but are truly a good choice to purchase at any time. Striped dresses, tops, pants and other items are versatile pieces and should be a part of everyone’s wardrobe. They can easily be styled with prints and bright colors to dress up or down. How many striped items do you have in your closet? I’ll bet more than you thought!
For today’s post, I am styling a very simple striped sheath dress with 3/4 sleeves. I purchased it earlier this year from Old Navy and it was very inexpensive.
While it appears blue in the photos, it is actually a medium gray and white stripe. I paired it with an old red denim jacket from Chico’s. Red and gray really complement one another, don’t you think?
I am really enjoying the trend of wearing sneakers with dresses. It gives a dress a nice, casual look and feel and is very comfortable. Here I am wearing my white lace Skechers.
Adding fun accessories like scarfs and jewelry can really make an outfit. For this look, I added a silk neck scarf with red ladybugs. It’s usually a good idea to choose accessories that pull out another color in your outfit to tie the look together. But it’s really your personal choice–fashion is whatever YOU want it to be!
I added my silver disc earrings for a little bling, along with a sterling silver and a red bracelet, again to connect the pieces together.
You can wear these types of casual dresses almost anywhere–you just need to find the right fit for you. (A sheath style is the best look on me.) They are perfect for casual running around or dressed up for work or a lunch or dinner date. On colder winter days, I wore this dress with tights and with both my ankle and knee-high boots. It would look great with sandals or over-the-knee boots, too!
Speaking of running around, I really do have to run…
