In yesterday’s post, I shared a fun casual style with sneakers–one of my favorite looks right now! For today’s post, I will share the two other ways to style a winter coat.
I love to take a casual look and dress it with a surprise element, like the coat and polka-dot scarf. How do you add design elements to your wardrobe?
There isn’t much risk-taking in terms of pattern mixing, but the 2017 forecast shows lots of bright colors and pattern mixing. So I will be experimenting with that and sharing my successes and not-so-successful looks and ask for all of you to weigh in!
For the second look, I simply added a turtleneck sweater under my coat with a tasseled necklace and ankle booties. My booties are from Munro, purchased at Nordstrom a few years ago. They make very comfortable shoes and these have a rubber sole and heel and are perfect for cold or rain. The burgundy jeans are those from Lands End.
For the third look, I switched up the top for a grey patterned tank–an inexpensive one from Nordstrom I bought a few years ago along with a burgundy and deep green one. The tanks are great for work or casual wear and look great under blazers, sweaters, or a coat, as I show here. Once again, I am showing how you can mix patterns, albeit in a subtle way for this outfit.
To kick it up a notch, I added my calf-hair heels, by Clarks, also a few years old.
It is raining here again, off and on with more rain expected through the week! I would love to hear what you are all wearing as I know I have followers who are both local and throughout California. Thanks for joining me on this fashion journey and for reading my posts!
