While white pants and jeans are a year-round staple for me, they are the perfect pairing for a fresh spring look. I’m sharing two sweater and white pants looks today as possible transitional pieces to bridge the gap between winter and spring.
Hello to the first Monday of Spring! How’s the weather where you are? Is it cooperating with lots of sunshine and warmth? One can hope, right? We are having a lovely sunny week here in Southern California but the temps are on the cooler side and the nights still get pretty chilly. And you never know what’s coming next, weather-wise, at this time of year.
So, a good option in terms of an outfit is pants and a light sweater, just like the two I’m sharing today.
Sweater and White Pants Outfits
Both of the tops I’m styling today are from Chico’s who makes quality clothing that fits ladies over 40. How many of you are Chico’s shoppers?
These sweaters are lightweight and super soft. They offer just enough warmth for a cool spring day or evening.
In terms of sizing, I generally wear a size 0 in Chico’s sizing, and a Petite 0 in pants. (Aren’t they smart to use these small numbers! Lol!)
Unique Sweater and White Pants
The first outfit features this adorable scarf detail sweater. I picked it for an incredible price so couldn’t resist.
It’s very unique, with a classic crew-neck sweater updated with a scarf detail that adds softness to the silhouette. It’s one of those dramatic pieces that you can style in the day and on into the evening and still look smashing.
Tops like these are great to have in your closet when you want to wear something that’s easy to put together and that makes a statement.
The availability is limited, but keep checking as it seems to change frequently. In the meantime, here are some other tops that give off that same vibe, all from Chico’s:
Front Wrap Sweater and Pants
This cotton-cashmere blend sweater has a luxurious feel. It gives you the lightweight warmth of cotton with the amazing softness of cashmere. It’s perfect now as we transition to spring and will work well for early summer.
I love the classic wrap-front style. And the best thing? It stays closed! It doesn’t gap open which can be so annoying in a wrap style. You know what I mean, ladies! It comes in black, too, that would look stunning with white pants!
OK, the shoes! These are modeled after the original cap-toe shoes introduced by Coco Chanel herself back in 1957. She called them “the height of elegance.” Karl Lagerfeld brought them back to life in 2015 and you can find versions of them all over the place. My cap-toe black sneakers by Karl Lagerfeld have appeared in several posts since I picked them up at last year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.
My tan and black pumps are from Express, and they have limited sizes available in this color combo, but lots in the two-tone black. They have restocked, however, so you can check back if you love them as much as I do!
Here are some other options for this classic style:
To continue the classic look I have going here, I’m carrying my handbag by Tory Burch. This leather quilted tote bag is definitely an investment piece that I was willing to pay for as I know I can carry it for years and years. It’s truly a beautiful bag.
So, as you are dying to style something new and fresh for spring, but the weather is still on the chilly side, try one of these sweater and white pants looks. You simply can’t go wrong with an easy outfit like these!
