Time is just flying by and here we just two days away from St. Patrick’s Day! In honor of this day, I’m sharing a green outfit or two for inspiration this holiday.
As I wrote in last year’s post at this time, whether we are Irish (or Irish heritage) or not, we do all tend to wear green for this special day. Cause we don’t want to get pinched, right? Lol!

The Story of St. Patrick’s Day
Here is an excerpt from last year’s post, just in case you’re wondering where in the heck this holiday came from!
So, what is the story of this holiday? Here’s a little trivia for you. Saint Patrick’s Day, started in 461, began as a religious event celebrating Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. In the 17th Century, it became an official Christian feast day and is celebrated around the world even today. Here in the US, we hold parades and parties and feast on traditional Irish food including corned beef, corned cabbage, coffee, soda bread, potatoes, and shepherd’s pie. While I definitely have some Irish in my background, my husband has very little. I don’t even like corned beef, but we cook it every year because my husband is a big fan. And of course, all you have to add a little touch of green to your outfit!

And yes, we are once again cooking corned beef this year. At least it’s easy! Just pop it in the slow cooker and cover it with water. Add some chunks of cabbage close to the end of the time and voila! Dinner is ready. Well, my husband and son will really enjoy it at least! Me, I’ll just wear a little green.
As a former teacher, principal, staff developer and administrator in education, you wouldn’t dare show up at your school site or district office without a little green on or near this holiday. And since old habits die hard, I felt the need to wear green to my administrator organization board meeting where I am a volunteer. And guess what? Everybody in the room had a least a touch of green on them! Lol! Educators are definitely creatures of habit.
The Green Outfit
This Year’s Green Outfit
Since black slacks go with everything, I added a vibrant green top with laser cut sleeves in a pretty spring green.
Black slingbacks are my go-to with a professional outfit. Since the day started out pretty chilly, I also wore my leather moto jacket. These jackets are just SO easy to style and I find myself wearing it over and over.
My Kendra Scott jewelry made the perfect accessories! And at last–a sunny day with no rain!! Woohoo! You know it’s true by my squinting, right? Lol!
Green Outfit from Last Year
Last year, I wore a plain green tee with a blazer and white jeans. This fun fedora completed my green outfit. It was one of those amazing Target finds!
Whatever or wherever you find yourself this St. Patrick’s Day, don’t forget to wear a little touch o’ the green–a green outfit, that is!
