The casual outfit
By throwing a kimono top over a basic pair of denim shorts, you have a beautifully styled look. It looks like you worked hard to get this look, but it isn’t so! Pair the shorts with a bright tee, add some sandals and a fun bag, and you are styling!

If you don’t have a pair of denim shorts yet, check these out. They are my favorite with a nice fit and some stretch. And the espadrilles in denim go with everything summer! My super cute tee is from Salon Zinnia, once again!
Bright jewelry like these blue dangly earrings and bead bracelet keep the look casual and fun. As does the bright pink bag!
Everyday kimono top outfit
An everyday pair of jeans can be just as easily dressed up a bit by adding a colorful kimono top. Again, pair your jeans with a white tee, some espadrille wedges and a pair of statement earrings and you have created a unique new outfit.
Democracy Jeans(on sale!) | Lace trim tee | Espadrille wedges
My favorite jeans and a beautifully made tee from Soft Surroundings completed the outfit. And these super comfy espadrille wedges are a summer must have!
And of course, a straw clutch bag! Another piece you must have for summer!
A dressed up outfit
How about wearing a kimono for an evening out? Take a basic dress–a sheath dress words really well–add a pair of heels and some statement jewelry, and you are dressed for the evening! How simple is that? This would work with any length dress; just be sure to wear a body-hugging dress to avoid too much fabric going on with the kimono. A kimono top works best over fashion pieces that sit close to your body. That way, the kimono gives you that flowy effect without too much bulk.
This dress is from the adorable shop in Northern Michigan–Haystacks–where my BFF and I shop every summer. Everything they make can be literally thrown into a suitcase and come out perfect! I kept this outfit feminine and dressy by adding pink kitten heels and shoulder bag. Since the kimono is the statement piece, there is no reason to wear contrasting shoes and bag.
Jewelry is a statement necklace and earrings from Target.
Hi Darlene! I just posted an outfit with a kimono! They are easy to wear and do ampligy a look. Love all the ways you styled your pretty floral one. The pink lace dress is up my alley and looks lovely on you! I also have the lace tee from SS, great look!
