Do you have a utility jacket in your closet? This jacket is an easy, laid-back look that’s perfect for everyday casual style. Today, I’m sharing two ways to style an olive utility jacket for inspiration, but the possibilities are endless!
Two Ways to Style an Olive Utility Jacket
With a striped top
The olive utility jacket is especially easy to style as the olive color goes with almost anything in your closet. That’s a big plus, right?
My jacket is an older one–a bargain from T.J. Maxx, I think. But there is a huge selection of these jackets that are so popular.

Stripes are always in style, especially in the spring, and it looks like this year is no exception. On the runways, big and bold stripes are making a big showing.
Likewise, baby stripes, those of smaller stripes that are closer together, and often of varying width, are also trending this spring. This linen V-back top is one example. It will be perfect with white jeans or pink shorts later this spring!

Black jeans (Universal Thread–see them here) look great with olive and the dark mustard bag adds a little color and fun. And of course, black booties complete the outfit.
I added a pink floral brooch–just for fun!
With a graphic tee
This cute little tee came in a Trunk Club selection and is from Madewell so it’s…well, it’s made well! Lol! I love the graphic message and the multi-colored letters make it look good with almost anything. Graphic tees are totally on trend, too!
In these photos, you can see how our gorgeous plants are filling in. They are really showing their color, and I just had to share it with you!
Sneakers will continue to trend as well. It’s not like we weren’t all wearing them anyway, right? I’ve worn white slip-on Keds for years. I’ve always thought they look great with jeans or shorts and tees. This leather pair from Ecco is SO comfy. I love the soft “powder” color and they come in four other colors, too! A little pricey, but you will get your money’s worth.
An inexpensive mustard yellow cross-body bag provides a pop of color and brings out the colors in the graphic tee. And yellow looks amazing with olive!

The Utility Vest
The one drawback for colder climes is the thinner fabric of the utility jackets. If you have concerns about being able to wear a winter coat, there is another option. A utility vest can give you a similar casual look and feel and still fit under a warm coat.
Here is a photo from a previous post, sharing another idea for styling a utility vest:

If you are looking for casual style, you can’t go wrong with an olive utility jacket or vest. Pair them with jeans, camo pants, shorts, even skirts and dresses for a cool, laid-back vibe.

Love,
I like your utility jacket with pink! Great colors together. I don t have one, I think they are not that populair here as in the US.
Hi Nancy,
Yes, I love olive with pink! My jacket is a bit dressier than the typical utility jacket, but the same olive. It might actually qualify for our “punk” theme!!
Can’t wait!
