Sometimes we have to break out of our rut. Like try something new. With my mostly-casual lifestyle, I wear jeans and casual pants much more than I used to. While there are lots of styles and washes to choose from, it can get boring wearing the same old jeans, right? That’s why I’m showing two fresh outfits featuring jeans with side stripes. It’s a nice way to change up the same ole, same ole!
Jeans with Side Stripes Outfits
Jeans Outfit #1
Do you love olive green as much as I do? Like most of you, I have a pair of olive ankle pants. A step up from jeans but still very casual. I haven’t picked up a pair of jeans in that color, though. So, recently I started to look for a pair. I came across these super casual relaxed jeans with stripe sides. They are one of those items you pass by but return to later. I mentioned this shopping phenomenon in my recent post, Bold Floral Print Dress for a Dreary Winter Day. So, in the end, I picked them up. Actually I had to order them online as they didn’t have my size in the store, but they arrived in short order.
The stripes are red and a very dark navy blue. So you could easily wear a black sweater or top and get away with it.
Described as cropped relaxed fit, they are just the right length for me as ankle pants. The curse of short legs is that everything is longer on me so I’m always thrilled when that works out!
What to style with these jeans with side stripes? A striped tee, of course. I’m styling them with a striped top as an ode to Spring! Hey, it’ll be here before we know it! And stripes are always big in the spring. I’m already seeing them in ads! This is a simple way to add a little contrast through pattern mixing.
Here are some darling striped tops you can layer now and wear later as we transition into spring.
I’ve had these jeans for a while and they are one of those pairs of jeans you reach for when you want something cute and easy. They have lots of stretch, making them super comfy. I have styled them with a white blouse, a navy top, a tee, and a sweater.
A white shirt and white leather sneakers make for a super easy style!
I know that many of you have always worn belts, but for the rest of us, belts are making a comeback. I think a belt should be well-made, preferable leather, but I don’t like to spend a lot on one. I found this red leather belt at Amazon. Like most things, it was delivered in two days–in time for this post. It’s a nice quality belt and comes in eight colors. It even came with a hole puncher and instructions how to use it! I like to buy a longer belt so it’s nice to be able to punch an extra hole where I want it.
The Denim Jacket
With both outfits, a denim jacket adds that just-right casual finish. Of course, these lightweight jackets are only good for those slightly chilly days. A puffer coat or vest would still look cute and be warm and cozy on a cold day. Here is a similar indigo denim jacket and a red denim jacket. My late mother-in-law bought me the red one for a birthday gift so serve as a little reminder of her. I get lots of wear out of both of them.
If you’re looking to punch up your casual jean style, try a pair of jeans with side stripes for a fresh new look!
