For this post, I thought I would share some of the outfits I put together to wear aboard the ship. I tried to pack so that I could mix and match items as much as possible. Shoes are always the hardest part: they weigh a lot and take up space in the suitcase! I went for a pair of black, nude, and silver for evening, two pairs of ankle boots, and my amazingly comfortable Sketchers for walking and exercise. Oh, and of course, my Rainbow Sandals, which are home-grown, made in San Clemente. Still too many! I will have to work on that. If any of you have any great suggestions for choosing shoes to pack, I would LOVE to hear them!
This is an outfit styled with my jeggings I picked up at Nordstrom Rack. The top is by Three Dots, which I bought in Northern Michigan but you can find them most everywhere including online. They are cotton, pack beautifully, and come in several neutral colors. I have three–grey, tan, and peach. Once again, I am styling my taupe Vince Camuto booties, from Nordstrom, which I love. The necklace is a tassel necklace and pulls it all together. I wore this outfit to a casual dinner, and will wear it at home as well. It is comfortable, yet stylish.
You can see from the picture that we have a very nice stateroom. Since we got a pretty good price on this cruise, we splurged for the Concierge level, and have a little sitting area and a bigger bathroom, which is really nice!
The next outfit was for a “smart casual” dinner, so I took it up a notch. I found this cold shoulder sweater at Chico’s, on sale, before I left, so they may still have a few. I love the button detail which is slightly forward in the front. It took me awhile to get into the cold shoulder look, but I have a few pieces and I do think there are some nice looking cold shoulder items. My slacks are Vince Camuto from Nordstroms and fit really well. My low-heeled velvet shoes are from Talbots that I bought for a wedding last fall and are very classic.
I kept the look pretty basic and just added silver hoop earring to match the buttons on the sweater.
We are currently sailing in the Red Sea and it is very warm after Venice and Athens. Israel was amazing but we were there for the whole two days of their unusual two-day storm!! Our luck! I will share some of those experiences with you in the next few posts.
Enjoy the holiday season, my friends!
