Wednesday is hump day as we all go over the hump and head toward the weekend! Woohoo! It’s also edging closer to the official start of summer. But since that doesn’t come for another month–June 21st to be exact–we can continue to celebrate spring. And what could be more perfect for this season than a pretty yellow floral babydoll dress?
Yellow floral babydoll dress
This is one of those affordable finds that cause you to take a second look. During a recent stroll through Target, I was totally drawn to the yellow and green floral, being the lover of yellow that I am! I found this little cutie in the WhoWhatWhere section. I’ve said it before and it must be said again: Target has really upped their game and it isn’t hard to find something cute to wear there, it’s just hard to choose from all the inexpensive, yet cute, finds! They are currently offering 50% off a second dress so now is a good time to check them out here.
Yellow floral babydoll dress
Now, what I can’t deny is that my first thought was, “how sweet.” Unfortunately, I rarely do “sweet!” I tend to style more fitted, tailored pieces, mostly because they better define my shape. But this floral babydoll dress was so well made, with a full lining in yellow and a great fabric that won’t wrinkle much. So I brought it home and put it on for this “photo shoot.” Usually, that means my husband taking my photos! Haha! He is getting better and better at it, however. When I came downstairs to take photos his only comment was “hmmm.” Well, you know what THAT means! I told him I know it’s a bit sweet, but is it a good or a bad sweet? Still got the hmmm. (He has learned to be a bit noncommittal when commenting on my outfits. I can’t imagine why! Lol!)
You can see it’s got a pretty full swing to it, which always feels so pretty, right?
The green suede slides and accessories
I knew right away this floral babydoll dress would look great with my emerald green slides. (You can see them in a couple of outfits in this previous post here .) I’m not normally a lover of slides, but the green suede sold me on these!
The photo above was part of our attempt to show you the “swing.” Didn’t quite work out the way we thought, but you can get an idea of the shape of this dress. I was going to call it a mumu, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, due to it’s casual and comfy shape.
A straw clutch automatically gives any look a spring-like feel, so if you haven’t picked one up yet, grab an inexpensive one when you see it.
It’s also easy to find inexpensive pieces of jewelry at Target and this multi-metal necklace, earrings, and bracelet added just enough to this dress.
Multi-metals chain pendant necklace | multi-metals earrings | multi-metals stretch bracelet
The three pieces are from Target’s Universal Thread and A New Day lines and I picked them up for 20% off. A bargain!
Floral fabrics are perfect for spring and if you like a breezy, flowy dress, give this babydoll dress a look!

This dress is just precious! I love the pretty colors, style, and print. Your green slides look perfect with it. I am not typically a “sweet” style gal, either, but I have been embracing it more and more.
Haha! I guess many of us are crossing over into new looks. The fun of blogging, right? To try new things. You have been styling some adorable looks lately as you embrace new looks, and I enjoy seeing those! Thanks for the nice comment–very affirming, Jennie!
